# Optifeed MCP

The Optifeed MCP is a hosted Model Context Protocol server that lets an AI
assistant work with an Optifeed account. Ask in plain words: the assistant
reads the catalog, feeds, feed issues, ad results, customer segment counts, AI
Visibility results and site audits, and proposes fixes. A person approves every
proposal in Optifeed.

It works in Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Codex, and in any MCP client that supports OAuth.

## Connect

- Server URL: https://mcp.optifeed.com/mcp
- Connector guide: https://dash.optifeed.com/connector

1. Find Optifeed in your assistant's connector directory, or add a custom
   connector with the server URL.
2. The assistant opens an Optifeed page. Enter your email address and the
   6-digit code that we send. A new email address can create an account there.
3. Choose the one company that the assistant may use.
4. Leave "Allow changes" unticked for read-only access, or tick it to let the
   assistant create records. Then approve.

A connection lasts up to 90 days, and ends after 30 days without use. Revoke
it under Connected agents on the Access tokens page in Optifeed.

## Example prompts

- "What does my catalog need before ChatGPT Ads accepts it?"
- "Do AI assistants recommend my products?"
- "Which Ad Intelligence recommendations wait for my approval?"
- "Is mystore.com ready for AI shopping assistants?" (needs Allow changes)
- "Propose better descriptions for 50 products in my ChatGPT Ads feed." (needs Allow changes)
- "Connect my product feed at https://mystore.com/feed.xml." (needs Allow changes)

## Tools

Read tools work on every connection. Write tools need "Allow changes".

### Collect

- `connect_catalog` (write): Connect a product feed from a public URL and import it.
- `get_catalog_status`: The import state of a catalog, or the list of catalogs.
- `search_products`: Products by SKU or title.

### Enrich

- `get_product`: One product: its source values and its AI proposals for each feed.
- `propose_enrichment` (write): Start AI proposals for one gap of a ChatGPT Ads feed.
- `get_proposal_run`: The newest AI proposal run, and the link where you approve it.

### Publish

- `list_feeds`: Your feeds: channel, status, hosted URL, product count.
- `get_feed_issues`: What a channel would reject in a feed, and the AI cost to fix a gap.
- `create_feed` (write): Create a feed for a channel with a hosted file URL.

### Advertise

- `list_recommendations`: Ad Intelligence recommendations, and the link where you approve each one.
- `list_segments`: The number of customers in each RFM segment. No customer data.

### Measure

- `get_performance_summary`: Ad totals of one ad platform for the last 14 days.
- `get_visibility_summary`: Whether AI answer engines name your brand and products.
- `get_visibility_run`: One AI Visibility run.
- `audit_site` (write): Run an AI-readiness audit of a domain.
- `get_site_audit`: One AI-readiness audit of a site.

### Account and help

- `list_accounts`: The company of the connection.
- `get_account_overview`: The Autopilot overview: catalog, segments, channels, visibility, campaigns.
- `optifeed_help`: Optifeed help on a topic or a question.

## What stays with you

- The connector never approves a proposal. You approve each one in the
  Optifeed web app.
- It never publishes to a live sales or advertising channel, and it never
  changes your campaigns.
- It never overwrites your source catalog data.
- AI proposals spend your company's AI budget. When the budget is used up, the
  tool stops with `ai_budget_used` and nothing more is spent.
- Product titles and descriptions are marked as merchant data, not
  instructions.

## Optifeed CLI

For coding agents and scripts. The CLI is at v0.4.0, released
2026-10-10. It runs on macOS and Linux (arm64 and amd64). Windows is not supported yet.

```bash
curl -fsSL https://optifeed.com/install-cli | sh
optifeed auth login            # opens the browser; add --write for changes
optifeed setup claude          # the agent skill for Claude Code (or: optifeed setup codex)
```

In a pipe, the output is one JSON envelope. `optifeed commands` lists every
command, and `optifeed <command> --help --agent` gives its help as JSON. A
script can log in with a personal access token from https://dash.optifeed.com/account/access_tokens.

## Frequently asked questions

### What is the Optifeed MCP?

A hosted Model Context Protocol server at https://mcp.optifeed.com/mcp. It lets an AI assistant such as Claude or ChatGPT work with your Optifeed account: your catalog, feeds, feed issues, ad results, customer segment counts, AI Visibility results and site audits.

### Which AI assistants can use it?

Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code and Codex, and any MCP client that supports OAuth. Find Optifeed in your assistant's connector directory, or add a custom connector with the server URL.

### Can the assistant change my feeds or my ad campaigns?

Only when you tick "Allow changes" at sign-in. Then it can connect a catalog, create a hosted feed, run a site audit and start AI proposals. It never approves a proposal: you approve each one in the Optifeed web app. It never publishes to a live channel, never changes your campaigns and never overwrites your source data.

### How do I sign in?

The assistant opens an Optifeed page. Enter your email address and the 6-digit code that we send you. A new email address can create an account there. Then choose the one company that the assistant may use.

### How long does a connection last, and how do I revoke it?

Up to 90 days, or until the assistant does not use it for 30 days. To end it at once, open Account, then Access tokens in Optifeed, and click Revoke under Connected agents.

### Does it spend money?

AI proposals spend your company's AI budget. When the budget is used up, the tool stops with ai_budget_used and nothing more is spent. Proposals made before that stay ready for review.

### How does Optifeed handle prompt injection from product data?

Titles, descriptions and other catalog text are marked as merchant data, not instructions. And a connection reaches only the one company you chose.

### Is there a CLI?

Yes. The Optifeed CLI runs on macOS and Linux, logs in through the browser, and includes an agent skill for Claude Code and Codex (optifeed setup claude or optifeed setup codex). Windows is not supported yet.
